Holocaust Memorial Day 2025
Monday 27th January was Holocaust Memorial Day, and this year marked 80 years since the Liberation of Auschwitz.
In our KS3 English classes we paid tribute to the six million Jewish people murdered by Hitler's armies by reading and exploring personal accounts of survival and liberation. During the lesson, pupils read a series of Holocaust Survivor Profiles and discussed the experiences of the survivors.
Following a small group activity, the pupils were asked to present their survivor's experiences to the rest of the class.

The lesson was an opportunity for our KS3 pupils to consider themes of discrimination and tolerance, but also that of kindness and empathy whilst learning about key historical moments.
